    Mount Fuji & Lake Kawaguchiko

If you're dreaming of getting up close to Mount Fuji, the area around Lake Kawaguchiko offers the very best vantage points. Departing Shinjuku in the morning, we head straight for Arakurayama Sengen Park, where the five-story vermilion Chureito Pagoda frames Fuji in one of Japan’s most postcard-perfect views. Throughout the day, we'll visit the eight sacred spring ponds of Oshino Hakkai, enjoy a steaming bowl of local houtou noodles for lunch, and ride the ropeway up Mount Kachikachi for breathtaking panoramic vistas over the lake.
